Engagement broke.. looking for a good match now to get married. How to proceed?

I broke up my engagement with a girl almost a year ago. It was done forcibly by family members and i did not like the girl at all. I paid the girl the losses they suffered by them as a consequence. Now i am looking for a good match without anybody's pressure. Should i disclose about the broken engagement to the girl who i see and their parents? If yes, how i should i convey the same. I feel nobody will accept if i say it straight forward at the first meeting. Also, I fear if i don't disclose and they learn about this from other sources later, what could be the consequences. I am confused.. pls help.
